Meadows Library blog 2nd Semester 2008
This year, you will write at least one paragraph every night that you had a Library Media Aide class during the day. The purpose for this assignment is to strengthen your descriptive writing skills and provide a record for yourself, your parents and for me about what you do each day during this class. I prefer 3 paragraphs of well-written, correctly spelled descriptive record of what you did during your Library Media Aide class. This blog participation is one rubric for this class. The more that you write the higher your grade will be in the class.

On monday we cut out laminated bookcovers. Then we folded them, and put them on the books. After that we checked in some books.

today in media aid i did he camraing for the anouncements and put away the returned books the put away the magizenes.
Today, we checked if we had books we could order. There were few that we couldn't get, so I was happy. There wasn't much to do. The whole time pretty much was taken by that.

Today in Media Aide we put the books that did not have any tape on them yet and put tape on the big and smaller side of the book. Then I put the book covers that have not been laminated yet into the laminator and it got laminated. Then at the end of the period we got to go to the office and help them out with the picture forms.
Today we went to somewhere in the office and closed folders The other people must have been slow because she said we went a lot faster. I don't know why she needed help because we were done very fast. We also cut out laminated covers to fold and by then the bell had rung.
Today in class first in class we filmed the announcements, then taped book and cleaned tables.

Today, 3-28-08 we moved all the pinyatas into the back room and we put away books then we found our biography books. Last class, 3-26-08 We magnatized books and had a class. And Monday, 3-24-08 we taped books and glued old books.
Today we stamped books and put in the metal strips. Me and Rybon redid the lunch menu for nexed week. We also checked in books.

Today in media aide we first checked in books then we stamped books that a kid in her earlier classes messed up and we also had to try to get the metal strips out of the books were the kid put them because they were to far up in the front. Then when we were finished with that Mrs. Roof told us to stamp some new books and after that she showed us how to laminate so we laminated some book covers and after that we started cutting them out and a little after that the bell rang.

There was no books to check in so we sat with the eighth graders and listened to a man talk about a case that he did. That took up the whole period so we left when his speach was done and the bell rang.

Today in media aide we started by checking in a few books. Then, I shelfed the books on the cart. Then, I helped some 5th graders find books and checked a few students out. As I was magnatizing some books the bell rang and I left.

Today we checked in, magnetized, and checked a couple of books. Then we cut out some overdo papers and seperated them into piles. then we put them in the teacher's boxes.
Today we checked in some books then we put them back. Then we did over dues.

Today in my Media Aide class we checked in about twenty books and put them away. After we were done putting them in the fiction lane, the biography lane, and the reference lane, we put the tape on books. Such as if it was brand new then we put a number and a genre on it. Then we taped the number on the spine and the genre together, and taped it on the book spine. When we were done doing that we got to take the books we checked in and put them through the scanner and if they didn't beep then we had to put it through the magnetizer again.
In library I turned on the music in the morning. Then Milise and I cleaned the tables. After that we taped the covers of the bood to the book until the bell rang.

Today in Media Aid there was a classroom in the library, so what we did was we first checked in the books that had to be checked in. We each had about 6 books. Then when we were done with that we got to check out some books to some people. Then Katie and I got to laminate the book covers for some books, and cut them out. Then the bell rang.
Today in Media Aide, we cataloged books. Someone had used the barcodes already without crossing them out, so we had to figure out which ones hadn't been used. It was very frustrating and I hope we didn't mess something up. It was hard.

Today in media aide I started by checking in a few books. Then, I changed the power point for the TV to updated information. And wheen I had completed that task I started to tape barcodes.

Today in meadia aide we put about fifteen book covers into the labling machine. After all those book covers were put in there I took the cutter and cut the book cover ends so that we could cut them. After that we v=cut the book covers so that they would be perfect, and no clear stuff would pop out. When we were done doing so, we just folded the book creases. Then we had time to do this and then the bell rang!

Today in media aide, we took the book covers and creased them. Then we put the covers on. After that we taped them to the book.
Today we did not do much. A bunch of people came in for art masterpiece. We creased some book covers and taped them on. This made my fingers all dry. It almost hurts. The phone rang and, because I didn't know if I should answer or not, I just stood there like an idiot. They asked for Mrs. Somethingorother, who wasn't there. I was thinking and I thing Media Aide was my favorite class for the day.
These blogs are deceiving. You would think they would be fun. I am bored already.

Today in media aide I started by checking in a few books and checking out a few people. Then, we paired up and we entered new books into the computer and gave them a barcode. My group got finished early so we helped the other group. Then, there was just a few minutes of class left so we just helped people.

Today we took books laying around and put them where they go. This was quick and easy, so I was done fast. The schedual is all messed up for AIMS, so this was the first time I have been at media aide before lunch. I checked in one of my books and got out the sequel.

Today in media aide, since we have AIMS testing this week we had to be extra quiet. While we were quiet, we got to put book covers on books. There were a lot of steps which made that hard to put it on. I got done with two books. Then we got to check in some books.
Today we taped covers down onto books. Then Rybn got a gold pen and got candy. For the remaining of the piriod we had free time.
today i bought another gel pen and won!!! i also taped books. i renewed my book too.

Today we had a free day. The computers were down so we couldn't do anything. What I did was played solitaire and i won the whole game twice.
Today we cut out posters from the laminator. Then we laminated more posters and cut them out. The rest of the piriod we had freetime.

Today in Media Aide we helped by first cutting the lamination on postars and then weput some nonfiction books back.
Today, we didn't have a whole lot to do. We cut out a laminated poster and put non-fiction books on the shelves. I checked out a Greek Gods book and now I am blogging.Since we didn't do a lot, I don't have a lot to say.

Today in media aide there was nothing to do so you let us play on the smart board and go in the computer lab. Then, a class came in so a few of us went to go help. That was all we did today and it was really fun.

Today, we got to help with the book fair. We put up posters and checked in books. After class was over, I got to come back and put up posters. The kids from my regular class were jealous of me, I think.

Today, we helped with the bookk fair. We made sure that every one of the books has a sticky note on the back copy. If they got downto that, They would know to order more. It seems like a good system. The next time I will be in this room is when I come to help on saturday!

Last time in media aid I just helped Miss. Roof with deleting books from the computer that weren't at the library anymore.
On Friday in Media Aid we had a substitute. So I just checked in books. Then I put the laminated coverings on the books.

Today in media aid we just got to help out with the book fair. What we had to do was whoever bought something, we worked at the register, so we could add up the prices. There was a couple books in the return basket so i got to do three of those books!

Today all we did was magnatise some books that were checked in. Tha is all there really is to say. I can't believe that it is almost summer break! I hope I get to do media aide next year.

Today was not that much action going on. We just helped organize the book fair. When we were done doing that, a little class came in and we got to check in and out their books too.
Today we work in the library and the book fair is here. So we just sat at the checkout and waited.
Today in media aide all we did was straighten up the books for the book fair and sell things also. So far no one has come in. So now I'm blogging.

Today in meadia aid we checked in three books each. Then after that we magnitized them and put them back into their aisle. After done doing that, we put all the books on the cart that were fiction on the aisle it belonged to.
Today I am not sure what was going on. I guess Ms. Roof was doing something else. We renewed a book for this one kid and that was it. We waited for a while, but there was nothing else to do.
Today there was really nothing to do. So Ms. Roof let us blog and play games.

Friday of last week, it was the last day of the book fair so we were under cover to see if anyone was stealing.

Today in meadia aide we just taped about ten books and then we had a little class. They check out about five books in all so we got to check those out. Next we had to check in books.
Today in Media Aide, Ms. Roof was gone again. I noticed as soon as I got there it smelled fishy, literally, and it wasn't just me because the people next door were complaining, too. Also, TO MS. ROOF: I am soooooooo sorry but I completely forgot about book club. I was here, thinking about it and everything, but at the end of the day, Adam comes up to me and says, "why weren't at book club," and I just remembered it was Tuesday.
Anyway, we put books away, all the while smelling sardines. That is all.
I forgot to blog on monday so I am doing it now. I remember all we did was renew a book. Then we blogged and played games:) .
